Ian Nicholson - 27th October 2011
The winner of October’s Boost the Budget is long time Cards supporter, Paul Homer. The original prize, donated by Rosemary Johnson, was 2 seats at the Woking fundraising dinner with Bobby Davro and Kenny Lynch. Paul is away then and so he and a companion will be joining Rosemary and Ian Nicholson as guests in the Board Room at the Havant game.
Paul was thrilled to be drawn as the winner and gave us a bit of background to his obsession with Woking:
“I am married with three girls 18, 19 and 24 so you can see why I enjoy my football! I have followed Woking FC since moving to the area in 1987 so have witnessed the highs and lows. I am the Managing Director of my own Company “HOMERWEST LTD” providing Structural and Civil Design consultancy to the Oil and Gas industry and Private sector.
As a fan I have sponsored matchdays and players' kit for many years and for a short time I was press officer at the club. I always like to contribute in various ways and this season I am the kit sponsor for Paris Cowan-Hall and Jay Davies. Obviously backing Boost the Budget is another simple, practical and positive way to help.
Garry and Thommo have done great things since arriving and hopefully they will steer us back into the BSBP as BSBS Champions. Beyond that it would be great to emulate close rivals Aldershot and AFC Wimbledon and other teams who have progressed into the Football League. Obviously a stable financial backing is paramount for this to succeed but the support in the area is fantastic and success brings its own rewards.”
November’s prize draw will include a £20 voucher to be spent at The Farm Shop Lyne in Chertsey (kindly arranged by Woking fan Johanna Sharp) and a bottle of bubbly contributed by Woking Chaplain, Ian Nicholson.
