Ian Nicholson - 1st December 2011
The Cards Trust are delighted to announce the November winners of the ‘Boost the Budget draw’. This month’s prize, in good time for Christmas, is a £20 voucher kindly donated by the Farm Shop, Lyne near Chertsey (www.thefarmshopuk.com) and a bottle of vintage Champagne kindly contributed by a member of the Cards Trust. Thanks to the donors and Johanna Sharp for approaching The Farm Shop.
Simon and Isobel Turner see themselves as ‘comparative newbies’ in that they have supported the Cards for just six years. “We were introduced to the delights of Woking FC by a friend who was managing our son’s football team. From then we have been hooked and season ticket holders for the last four years; we believe in being committed to local facilities – you use them or lose them. Boost the Budget and the Cards Trust fit our beliefs. Chris Ingram’s withdrawal of his financial backing was a wakeup call. It’s great to see so many fans taking responsibility, helping and cooperating in whatever small way they can – particularly through Boost the Budget. We also delivered free tickets in various areas during the effort to increase attendance and will be helping where we can in the future.
The upside of being in the Blue Square South is the relative nearness of other grounds and less time travelling so we have yet to miss an away game this season. We enjoy meeting old friends at games but also have made lots of new friends among the regular supporters.
It’s a nice surprise to win a prize – many thanks.”
Congratulations to Isobel and Simon. December’s draw will take place on Boxing Day and all ‘Boost the Budget’ forms handed in before Christmas will be included.
